Calla Retreat is a haven under the stars. With minimal light pollution, the night sky unveils the majestic dance of the milky way—providing an unparalleled back-to-nature stargazing experience. Drift off to the nocturnal chorus of Jackals cascading from the hills, and awaken to a symphony of local birdsongs. Indulge in a fresh garden breakfast as the first light of day blankets the landscape, energizing you for an adventure through the enchanting wilderness that surrounds us.
Set out on foot to explore the nearby river or ascend the hills for breath-taking panoramic views of the towering mountains. The call of the wild invites you to lose track of time lounging in our hammocks, soaking up the sun by the poolside, or unwinding with a chilled drink at the garden bar. Revel in the comfort of a swinging chair as the day concludes with a serenade of avian melodies, ushering you into an evening of peace beneath the amber glow of sunset.

Accommodation Options
Glamping in Style!
‘Trudy’s Tent in the Trees’ and ‘Pete’s Pad near the Pears’ are 2 beautifully decorated 5 metre Bell Tent’s. Both situated in the organic orchard on their own private decking.
In each space you will find twin beds, clothes storage, floor cushions and low table for indoor seating. Plus a solar powered lighting system that also has a USB port for your phone charging.
On your private terrace you will enjoy a hand carved table and 2 chairs with stunning views. You also have a private bathroom with composting toilet, sink and solar charged shower. (You can use an indoor ‘conventional’ toilet and shower for a small fee if you prefer).
Towels, bedding and pillows are provided along with 100% natural hand soap, shampoo and shower gel for you to enjoy.
You will also have access to indoor/ outdoor dining spaces, a communal kitchen and a games room. Plus plenty of shared seating and relaxation areas in the gardens.
Each tent sleeps 2 guests and is 70 Leva per night*
Appletree Cottage
Appletree Cottage is our beautiful self contained Villa. This is located at the edge of the retreat and can sleep up to 4 guests. This lovely villa is also pet friendly.
Inside the cottage you will find a generous sized kitchen with a cooker, washing machine and dining area.
There is a large bedroom that can sleep 4. Along with a cosy living room containing a woodburning fire so you enjoy a snug winter break. A flat screen tv and DVD player. Along with a selection of DVD’s, books and games for you to enjoy on those rare rainy days! Plus a very bright and modern wetroom.
Towels, bedding and pillows are provided. With 100% natural hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel for you to enjoy.
You will also have your own private garden with patio area, outdoor seating, sun loungers and bbq. Private parking and private access to the lane is included. Along with full access to all of the retreat facilities next door.
The Cottage can sleep up to 4 guests and is 100 Leva per night* (plus 5 Leva per pet, per night)
Guest House
Calla House, which is situated at the heart of the Calla Retreat complex. You can choose one of 2 rooms. Both rooms share a lovely modern bathroom.
Towels, bedding and pillows are provided. Along with 100% natural hand soap, shampoo, shower gel and conditioner for you to enjoy.
The calming double room is situated at the north side and overlooks the lane. You will stay cool even on the hottest summer days!
The single room is lovely and cosy and overlooks the small herb garden. With a the wonderful array of visiting butterflies so you will enjoy the wonderful fragrance throughout spring and summer!
You will also have access to indoor/ outdoor dining spaces, a communal kitchen and a games room. Plus plenty of shared seating and relaxation areas in the gardens.
The double room can sleep 2 guests and is 55 Leva per night*
The single room is 50 Leva per night*

Calla Retreat is located in the village of Vezenkovo, in the South East of Bulgaria, on the lower slopes of the Stara Planina mountain range. The river Kamchia runs through the village and you are surrounded by forests, mountains, lakes and rivers with perfect opportunities for hiking, fishing, birdwatching - or just total relaxation! Only just over an hours drive to the beautiful Black Sea beaches or the lovely city of Burgas - which also has an international airport. Plenty of cultural attractions nearby along with stunning natural beauty to explore.
